JEDDAH: The meetings of the four permanent committees of the Arab Parliament were held on Monday in Cairo to prepare for the agenda of the second general assembly that will be held on Tuesday at the Arab League’s headquarters. The assembly will be presided over by Arab Parliament Speaker Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami.
The Committee of Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs discussed its second report regarding the political situation in the Arab world. It also studied the draft resolution referred by the Parliament’s speaker regarding the recent developments in Yemen and the support of peace talks.
The Committee of Economic and Financial Affairs discussed the proposal of the model law to achieve food security in the Arab world.
The Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Committee discussed the draft resolution on the Arab Parliament’s solidarity with the Arab countries that have been struck by terrorism and complete support in their war against terrorism and terrorist organizations. The Committee for Social, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs studied the coordination of efforts for the adoption of the Arab Parliament’s proposals on women rights and Arab youth.
